The Life of Cocoa

Cocoa, from seed to sapling, to tree, to fruit

Cocoa Beans and the Cocoa Bean Pod Block graphics are standard Minecraft items expanded upon by this MFaC mod. Cocoa is different from the other MFaC fruit trees where you would expect to eat Cocoa Fruit (cocoa bean pods) and drop Cocoa Beans which would be planted to grow Cocoa Saplings. Instead, Cocoa Fruit is dropped from Cocoa Blocks in Cocoa Trees and is the item needed to grow a Cocoa Sapling. Cocoa Beans are made from Cocoa Fruit, but at that point they are out of the Cocoa Tree lifecycle. Upon planting (right clicking) a Cocoa Fruit on a Dirt or Grass block, the Cocoa Fruit in hand becomes a planted Cocoa Sapling. Cocoa Saplings look like Oak Tree Saplings with dark spots. A Cocoa Sapling will grow into an Cocoa Tree with the same conditions as a standard small Oak Tree, including force growth with Bone Meal. Cocoa Trees don't have unique leaf and log blocks, instead re-using Oak Leaf and Oak Log blocks. Additionally some (number/percent ?) leaf blocks are replaced with Cocoa Bean Pod Blocks, which drop Cocoa Fruit upon being broken or having the Leaf Block above them broken. Oak Leaf blocks from standard Minecraft Oak Trees and all MFaC fruit trees have a chance of dropping a Oak Saplings and Apples, quite ironic. The Cocoa Tree, along with the Avocado Tree is the least common MFaC fruit tree.

Cocoa Fruit is used in the following recipes:

Cocoa Fruit is not an edible food item but is a step in the crafting sequence of others.
